Locksley
Christian School has increasingly
welcomed many children with learning difficulties and other
special needs. This is due in part to the success of the Learning
Centre environment with an autistic boy.
The
school's policy for Special Educational Needs is a whole school
policy and endeavours to convey the idea of a united school
whereby the aim is to secure the best for all students as individuals.
This approach means that every effort is made to promote a positive,
inclusive atmosphere that recognises the rights of students
with additional needs not to stand out from their peers, but
indeed to be tutored alongside them with assistance and differentiation
provided at whatever level required.
Locksley
Christian School provides an inclusive environment, where additional
help is given to students who are particularly gifted, along
with those who contribute uniquely whilst dealing with the challenges
of cerebral palsy, autism, dyslexia, and emotional/behavioural
difficulties.
