Christian School opened in January
1992 when Stephen and Mandy Franklin turned the ground floor
of their house, Locksley Hall, into school rooms. Having home-schooled
their own children for one term, the Lord called them to open
their doors to the community, to be 'salt and light' and to
let other little ones come to the Lord. The first family to
join was non-Christian, and from that small start there were
several other local families who brought their children to the
school. By the end of the first year, there were 23 students
and three of the mothers had been saved.
By
April 1994 there were several more families who had come to
know the Lord, and one or two church families had joined the
school. With 45 students on the ground floor of Locksley Hall,
one of the fathers offered a lease on a building he owned. For
the next year, much work was done by a dedicated team of staff
to renovate Bilney House in Manby. This building (pictured above)
is the current home of the school.
More
recently, due to the success of the Learning Centre environment
with an autistic young man, the school began to get requests
for places for boys with similar needs. There has now been a
Learning Centre specifically tailored to provide support for
these boys alongside the school's provision for other learning
difficulties.
''
We thank God for His faithfulness to us, because on more than
one occasion, there has seemed no way forward, but He has provided
a way. Our boundaries are expanding, our children are growing
in grace, and we thank God literally every day for the precious
gift of Christian Education.''
